The Hunt: Aftermarket Rims

The hunt for aftermarket rims in the RC Lowrider space is elusive, they sell out fast, and become available with all the forewarning of a downtown pop-up shop. With Redcat releasing their Daytons this past year, and Jevries announcing the creation of his True 13’s Mk.2, the market is widening, but still, people don’t know that there are a few other manufacturers out there selling the coveted spokes you’ve been looking for. Below is a list of some known (and possibly unknown) rim manufacturers out there that will help ensure that you get an aftermarket pair you're happy with, enjoy.

Whitewall Low Pro Tires and Wheels - Redcat Racing

Kicking it off with the OG of the bunch, the Redcat Low pro tires burst onto the scene shortly after the Lowrider 64 debuted and kicked off the rim race that would eventually involve multiple manufacturers taking a stab at the rim game. The Redcat Low pros are noticeably smaller than their stock counterparts, and feature the knockoffs and nuts needed to give you the feel you may just be looking for. Available on their site for $33.99, they can be found using the button below.

TRUE 13 Straight Laced Wheels - Jevries

The game-changer; when Jevries came out with the True-13’s the community lauded them as the most true to scale rims out to date, and for good reason. The tires were quite detailed, as were the rims themselves. They are currently sold out as of the time of writing this article, but if you keep an ear to the streets, Jevries will always give a heads-up before dropping a new batch.

Available in Cross, or Straight Lace for $69.99, the link can be found using the button below.

1/10th Scale Wire Wheels - Daniel Tadits

Daniel Tadits, better known by his Instagram handle of tdanisgrarage is another known manufacturer who has been making high quality rims for a minute now. He drops his rims in batches as he gets new stock on hand, and has quickly garnered a following who are quick to make the purchase when a fresh batch touches down. As of the time of writing this, he is currently sold out, but new batches are set to drop any day now according to his Instagram. If you would like to get on his waiting list, DM him on his Instagram page in order to get yourself set up for an order. Available for $110 plus $10 dollar shipping, you won’t want to miss these when they drop.

1:10 Gold Real Steel Wire Wheels And Zenith Knock Offs - 3dscaleparts

3D Scale Parts has been around since roughly 2017, but it was until the last few years that the 1:10 scale lowrider has even been available, and so 3Dscaleparts followed suit, and unveiled their spoke rims to the masses. Available on their site for $109.00, these rims are a solid choice for anyone in the market who’s looking for something different.
